BYOd learning at Mary Valley State College in 2025
This program will be accessible to students in grades 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. With the advent of the new curriculum V9 and the launch of QLearn, an abundance of learning resources are now available online and can be easily distributed to students with a simple click. Students have the convenience of completing their assignments and submitting them to their teachers without the risk of losing any work.
The teachers at Mary Valley SC employ a variety of teaching techniques to effectively impart knowledge to their students. These techniques encompass both traditional methods such as handwriting on paper and utilizing the software and tools provided by the devices. The Administration Team have outlined the specific purposes for which the devices will be utilized in their respective subjects, as well as the extent to which students can expect their usage. It is imperative for students to bring their devices to school every day in order to facilitate successful learning across all subjects.
To ensure seamless connectivity to the school network, school internet, and printers, it is highly advised to encase all devices, be it a laptop or an iPad, in a durable and safeguarding case. Adhering to the recommended device specifications will facilitate effortless device integration with the aforementioned systems. However, alternative devices connecting to the network may experience restricted functionality, thereby impeding the learning process.
***Important to note before buying the device***

How will it work at school?
To join the school network, the device onboarding process can be conveniently completed either from home or with the assistance of our IT Technician at the school premises. It is important to note that immediate access may not be granted to everyone. To gain access, it is necessary to reach out to the school and submit a request to be included in the BYOd program. Upon approval, you will receive a copy of the Mary Valley State College Byod Charter, which requires your agreement and signature on the BYOd Responsible Use Agreement. Kindly return the signed agreement to the school office.
